First Sony designed full frame Macro lens

Sony finally produces their first full frame normal macro lens, a 50mm F/2.8 for the FE system. Sorry 'a' mount folks, you'll have to keep using the 1980s Minolta designed macros. This new FE macro lens has a stated minimum aperture of F/16, that seems not nearly small enough for close work and adequate depth of field. Of course I'll be reviewing this lens soon. Sony announces a new APS-C camera, this time a minor upgrade to the A6300, both good cameras, however, the retail price of the new 6500 is $1400!!  This new camera gets some AF, and video tweaks, and a touch screen.  Below is a recent press release.

New A99II gets some minor upgrades

Sony comes out with yet another 'a' mount camera, this time a minor upgrade to the A99. Unfortunately, it's been years since they've come out with a new lens for this system, and a good portion of the current lenses from Sony actually are Minolta designs that date back to the 80s and 90s
